Wildtierstation: zuupack trippin’ Germany

Luke Holmes and Maxx Evan dive headfirst into German cable culture – capturing stylisch tricks, good vibes, and plenty of stoke

Together with Belgian homies Louis Eggerickx and Glenn Vandenberghe, plus Dutch ripper Katinka Buiting, the zuupack crew hit the road across Western Germany. What they found: world-class parks, new friendships, and a culture that truly breathes wakeboarding.

Ask anyone in the U.S. about the global hotspot for cable wakeboarding and one country keeps coming up: Germany.
“For so many riders it’s the dream trip – nowhere else in the world have wakeparks reached this level,” says Maxx Evan.

So the two Americans packed their bags and flew to LAO. From there, their road trip kicked off: Wasserski Langenfeld, The Bricks, WakeClubCologne, DOCK5, and finally Terhills Wakepark in Belgium. It didn’t take long to realize how deeply wakeboarding runs in Europe.

“Every park felt like its own little world – packed crowds, mouth-watering food, and an infrastructure you just don’t see in the States. It was cool to reflect on just how far we’ve come.” – Maxx Evan

One special highlight was the sunset session at Cable 4 in Langenfeld – the moment the crew truly clicked. Good vibes, golden light, and heavy tricks. Luke even shut down a sketchy pool gap that nobody thought was possible. He stuck it first try, then followed up with three heavy switch bangers to seal the deal.

But beyond the tricks and spots, it was the crew’s energy that made the trip unforgettable. “It was amazing to see everyone hyped for each other – zero ego, just pure love for the sport,” Maxx sums up.

By the end, the boys headed back to the States tired but stoked – with plenty of clips, fresh memories, and the certainty that this won’t be their last trip to the “Cable Mekka”.
